We did stay a night in Kansas City with our good friends Garin and Coley and hung out with Danny (another close friend) all the next day. Unfortunately, the weather was yucky so we proceeded to watch '16 and Pregnant' on MTV all day ... it was like a train wreck as we could not stop watching. Horrible, I know! We then went to good old Atchison to get settled in. Eric went to high school in this tiny town and his grandmother still lives there so it was a good time. When my parents got in we gave them a tour of the town and it took a whole 20 minutes!!! I still cannot figure out what they did for fun, I am just a city girl.
On Sunday we drove to the Kickapoo reservation (20 minute drive) for the naming service. We were SUPER excited to see Keish (picture of him below) at the service as he gave everyone in Eric's family their name and he is currently battling lung cancer so we thought he would not be able to make it. Though the service was about half the time then normal, Keish was still able to lead the ceremony and that alone was very special to us. Deegan received Eric's grandfather's name "Nah-Qua-Geshuk" which translates to mean "middle of the day" or "coming of the day" something to the affect.
